When you meet Marcus and Christina Hinschberger for the first time, you can’t help but think this is what is meant by the expression of a “dynamic duo.”

World class athletes, exceptional educators, passionate teachers, motivational coaches, inspirational speakers, role models, and amazing parents are how this Natomas power couple is described by all who know them.

Another expression that applied to this remarkable couple is, “the apple does not fall far from the tree” Christina is a second generation martial arts expert who began her training in San Francisco California as a young child under the
watchful and demanding eye of her father, Sensei E. Valdès.

Meanwhile, at that same time on the other side of the world in Germany, Sensei Bernd Hinschberger was putting his son through the paces to ensure his son continues the family tradition of martial arts excellence.

Through an international competition, the two young black belt athletes met and began a friendship that evolved into marriage. As adults with over 60 years of combined experience in the Art of Shotokan Karate classes in Sacramento, they have both earned the coveted title of Sensei or Master Teacher.

After many years of rigorous training and successful competition, winning countless trophies and medals, this team of master teachers has dedicated their efforts to the embitterment of their community. Recognizing the need to bring families together and help them take charge of their health and wellbeing the Hinschbergers opened Tokon Martial Arts.

The combination of ancient training methods combined with modern day cutting edge technology is a surefire system for helping their students actualize their full potential.
