Why adults should train Martial Arts

You’ve probably heard a few things about Martial Arts. Whether from seeing your favorite actor take on 24 assailants in a movie fight scene and proceed to incapacitate all of them without even breaking a sweat. Or maybe you’ve read about the extensive martial arts training the United States Military provides for all its troops.

However, while all those may be important parts of martial arts, the reality is that martial arts goes beyond learning to fight. For several centuries, Karate has been exported to different countries around the world because of its immense benefits. It’s no secret that many businessmen and captains of industries while in their 60s and 70s still regularly commit to hours of martial arts training every week, surely it cannot be because they want to ward off attackers.

Martial arts is not just about building up the body, it is also concerned with the health and development of the mind and soul as well, because you cannot be in a state of equilibrium if your body is fit but your mind is tired.

My name is Sensei Marcus Hinschberger and in Tokon Martial Arts, the Martial Arts Training Academy I run with my wife Sensei Christina Hinschberger, we are 100% committed to creating a supportive environment where people of all ages can learn the practical principles of Karate-Do and apply them to become better versions of themselves.

Many consider us as experts when it comes to helping people develop their minds and bodies because of our training programs that help regular individuals like you and I develop resilience, mental acuity, emotional mastery, discipline, dedication and focus that serve them in places where mere brawn and muscle will not. It is this combination of muscle, mind and spirit that has made us one of the foremost martial arts facilities in the country.

With our martial arts regimen, the body is exercised, toned and revitalized, the mind is energized and rejuvenated for quicker mental acuity while the spirit and soul is recharged and replenished constantly to make better emotional choices.

Over the last three decades of running our programs, several of our students have gone on to launch their own business, rise to the top of the corporate ladder and become high flying students in college and high school. We have dedicated programs for people of all ages and genders – from grade school kids to elderly men and women who are constantly innovating themselves. Whoever you are, whatever you do, whatever your age, you will find a program you can follow to improve yourself.

Life is never an accident, progress and growth is always intentional. Take this period to intentionally grow yourself – body, mind and soul.
