Another expression that applied to this remarkable couple is, “the apple does not fall far from the tree” Christina is a second generation martial arts expert who began her training in San Francisco California as a young child under the watchful and demanding eye of her father, world renowned Sensei E. Valdès. Meanwhile at that same time on the other side of the world in Germany, Sensei Bernd Hinschberger was putting his son through the paces to insure his boy continues the family tradition of marital arts excellence.
Through international competition the two young black belt athletes met and ensued a friendship that evolved into a lifelong union.
As adults with 50 years of combined experience in the Art of Shotokan Karate they have both earned the coveted title of Sensei or Master Teacher. After many years of rigorous training and successful competition, winning countless trophies and medals, this team of master teachers have dedicated their efforts to the embitterment of their community.
Recognizing the need to bring families together and help them take charge of their health and wellbeing the Hinschbergers opened the Tokon Martial Arts and Athletic Kids Academy. This combination of ancient training methods combined with modern day cutting edge technology is a surefire system for helping their students actualize their full potential.
