There are no shortcuts to success
We all have dreams, hopes, and wishes. There is this one thing that we want to accomplish, acquire and attain. Still, most of us never get to this point - especially if what we desire is beyond “average,” something great, something outstanding.
Why is that? Why do we all have those dreams and still yet, so few make it there? What happens?
It is easy to shrug and say it is because life happened. But if we are honest with ourselves, we would admit that life also happens to EVERYONE else - INCLUDING the ones that DO become successful.
However, we can say that we might be ignoring the money factor in this variable.
While it is true that money can sometimes buy your way in, it does not necessarily mean you would accomplish something great.
Have you seen Paris Hilton or any of the Kardashians accomplish something great? I mean something really great that came out of their own creativity. Something that was not just made possible because a significant amount of money was thrown at it until it finally becomes successful. Sorry to ruin your parade, but that is not accomplishing something great.
Also, if you think about it, so many of the greatest entrepreneurs in the world today started out of their garages. The name of Jeff Bezos of Amazon, the richest man in the world comes to mind. He started Amazon in his garage a few decades ago, selling books. Today, Amazon is a multi-billion-dollar company that basically sells everything. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Page, and Mark Zuckerberg are other examples that come to mind. These people have something in common. They spearheaded the creation of what today can be termed as the most significant businesses in the world in garages.
In fact, if we look closer, we will learn that hardship that these folks went through in those garages might be an essential but overlooked factor that determines the outcome.
At some point, all successful entrepreneurs went through a phase of suffering, hardship or poverty. What makes them different from us is that drive and unwavering desire to be unstoppable. Of course, I am not saying that the path to success was easy from then on, but they decided to be fearless and unstoppable.
The thing is once you become fearless, life becomes limitless.
They set a target for themselves, and they knew that the place they wanted to go; the place of success does require sacrifices. It is the willingness to make these sacrifices that make them different from the rest.
That’s why at any given task, only a minute number of people become successful. It is merely because they are the group willing to pay the price: the price of sacrifices.
They realized that for them to be successful, they had to accept the long, uncomfortable and tedious way - they had to accept that there is no shortcut and that success demands their blood, sweat, and tears.
They just realized that there was no shortcut to success.
It is easy to think that so many successful people gained their success overnight.
What we fail to realize is that they actually worked hard for sometimes 10, 15 or even 20 years before becoming an “overnight success.” The only thing you have to do is start now.
Sadly, the grit, perseverance, and self-motivation to help you achieve your dreams are not taught in schools. However, learning ancient Martial Arts can help master these skills.
I am Sensei Marcus Hinschberger. My wife Christina and I are the owners of Tokon Martial Arts. We are considered by others as experts and authority when it comes to helping people develop the “no shortcut mindset and attitude.”
We have taught thousands of students around the globe how to strengthen and train commitment and how to get an “I am unstoppable” mindset.
We teach you to set goals and accomplish them. Our students learn how to gain more confidence and develop higher self-esteem. We also get students to increase their focus, have more grit and learn how to persevere. By learning this, they master the art of shaking off setbacks and try it one more time.
In our Karate school, a high achiever atmosphere, that will not only inspire the student to stay on track but to keep improving is ensured. We strengthen confidence, reduce fear, anxiety, and doubts.
We teach our students to excel, improve and to overcome. The family-friendly atmosphere that we have at our school creates a supportive and inspiring circle of friends that motivate excellence.
